Ragyo Kiryuin is the mother of Satsuki Kiryuin and, as revealed later, Ryuko Matoi. She runs the global REVOCS Corporation and is revealed to be a human/Life Fiber hybrid. She ordered the killing of Sōichirō Kiryuin and the infant Ryuko, with Sōichirō being killed by Nui Harime on her orders. Ryuko was saved by Isshin Matoi—who is actually Sōichirō Kiryuin in disguise—and raised by him. Nui Harime awakens the Life Fibers at the Osaka REVOCS headquarters on Ragyo's behalf. Ragyo captures Satsuki and orders the Life Fibers to consume every human. She and the Primordial Life Fiber, the original Life Fiber that landed on Earth, attempt to reach the Honnouji Academy stadium to use the Life Fiber Synchronization Wave to trigger the COVERS satellite, which would cause all Life Fibers to cover the planet and destroy it.
